Paintings are one part of my overall body of work which has developed through a multi-disciplinary practice. Primarily made with Acrylic and paper collage, they also incorporate velvet materials such as, velour paper, velvet fabric or velour flocking. Velvet material is a constant application in all my work. For me, it evokes 70's soul culture and the african-american kitsch which surrounded me as a child.
